We are inviting the journalists of regional media to production trainings for developing stories on the issues of e displaced persons. The first trainings for local TV, printed and on-line media will be conducted in different regions of Ukraine for a period of November – December, 2015.
The training is conducted under the project “Regional Eye – Strengthening conflict sensitive coverage in Ukraine’s regional media”. The training is funded by the European Union. And Thomson Foundation (Great Britain) together with the Institute for Regional Media and Information (IRMI, Ukraine) are conducting the training sessions in partnership with National Association of Journalists.
The five-day long production sessions are structured in such a way that by the end of the training every participant will receive actual and balanced coverage to be presented it his/her TV channel, newspaper of news site.
From the beginning of the training its participants with the support of international trainers of Thomson Foundation and local experts of IRMI will work on looking for a story, studying the issue, analyse it, write articles, shoot and edit and finalise their stories.
During the training its participants will master the necessary skills of editing and learn about the best practices of covering IDP-relate topics. Through balanced, positive news local media can prevent emergence of conflict situations. In the future perspective the formed during the project net of local media will become a platform for establishing direct cooperation with colleagues in EU countries.
For practical reasons trainings for TV journalists and print and on-line media will be conducted separately. Special sessions are provided for journalists from Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as Crimea.

The organisers provide transfers locally for a period of pre-production, for interviews, photos and shooting within the region. Also they reimburse expenses on trips by bus and train (except for the first class) and provide accommodation and meals.
