International Institute for Regional Media and Information (IRMI) and Thomson Foundation, supported by the EU, welcome representatives of CSOs working on IDP support to participate in workshops on media literacy and advocacy. The workshops, joined together in a pair, are to take place in Zaporizhia: 3-6 June for the first one and 18-22 July for the second one.
The “Media Literacy” course will be covering such issues as engaging with target audiences, making the work of an organization attractive for the media, as well as developing a strategic communications plan and practicing on-camera interviews. The trainees will find out about the specifics of a news release and news package preparation. On top of that, they will be guided as to how to organize discussions and establish working relations with local media.
The “Advocacy” course, which is the second round for the “Media Literacy” team of trainees and trainers, will aim to polish some of the previously acquired skills – this time during visits to TV and Radio stations for interviews and talk shows. A press-lunch and other media events, involving Regional Voices journalist-participants, are to be organized for networking and awareness raising purposes.
